 Welcome to McKinley Elementary

McKinley Elementary School, located in Farmington New Mexico, has a student population of 560 in grades K-5. McKinley offers a full day kindergarten program, Navajo and Spanish bilingual programs, special education services, an on site gifted education program, after school programs and a full range of academic offerings for students. Our school goal is that all students will reach grade level or IEP expectancy in the core academic areas.  We strive to provide high quality educational services to all children in a caring and safe environment.

IT IS TIME to register for the 2016-2017 School Year!!!
All returning students and new students K-5 must register online. Every child currently enrolled, at McKinley, received a letter to enroll for the 2016-2017 School Year.  This letter contains a code to register using the website:
Please bring your birth certificate, shots records and proof of residency (utility bill or rental agreement with your name on it) to McKinley's front office to complete the registration process.  If you complete the process above your child will receive a special prize from our office.


Visitor Management System-Everyone must check in through the KIOSK, in the front office,  before entering anywhere in the school.
The Farmington Municipal Schools has been in the process of implementing a Visitor Management System in all of our schools and district buildings. As you visit your child's school, a government issued ID will be required. Such as a drivers license or State issued ID. While a government issued ID is required for every visit, you will only be required to enter your personal identification information into the KIOSK using your government issued ID on your initial visit. Our office staff will be available to greet you and assist you if needed. If you have any questions, please contact our front office staff for assistance. Thank you

SAFETY FIRST-The front parking lot by the flag pole is for Handicapped only.  Farmington Police have informed us that they will be ticketing cars, and there will be no more warnings, if cars      are parked in the handicap parking lot without a handicap placard.   Please do not use it to pull through and pick up Or to park.  We have students crossing in the crosswalk and they will be walking across that parking lot.  If your children walk home make sure they use this crosswalk and NOT Monterey and Tycksen.  THANKS!

Drop Off and Pick Up
Please communicate a before and afterschool plan with your child and the teacher before school starts.  Kindergarten students can be picked up in the east parking lot by driving through the east parking lot loop.  All other students may be picked up in the West Parking lot loop.  For the safety of all children please do not drop off or pick up in the front parking lot.  Students can enter the cafeteria to eat breakfast at 7:20 a.m.. The first bell rings at 7:55 a.m..  Students are dismissed at 2:45 p.m. unless otherwise noted.  

The federal No Child Left Behind Act, and the state Public School Code, permits you as a parent, the right to request information about the licensure and other qualifications, teaching assignment, and training of your childís teacher, instructional support providers, including paraprofessionals, and school principal(s) who may work with your student.
